IN THE CLINICAL SETTINGS AND THE REAL WORLD, NOT ONLY WILL YOU BE DOING YOUR WORK, YOU'LL DO EVERYONE ELSE'S, AS WELL. BETTER GET USED TO THE CALL BELLS NOW!! Do your research before starting any Nursing Program. The nursing school you choose is important. Research your professor. My professor was from Africa. She made comments like, "No one knows about voodoo in America." or "You know about that?" Yes, we do. Those things happen in America, too. Fool!  This isn't another planet, even though we're not from Africa. She spoke about voodoo and Africa, too. We were suppose to afraid of Africans because of it and it supposedly happened only in Africa. Meanwhile, I'm from Louisiana and apparently, she's never heard of Marie Catherine Laveau. Some professors may be very judgmental, as well. They may pick favorites or be racist. Just saying. I've had one meeting with the head person of my program (no names) and these were my issues. I was able to bring SOME of these issues up. Only some! Many people were upset because they weren't allowed a second chance on the test to the next nursing program step. Some were given a chance and some weren't. People weren't treated as equals or fairly. It was just disgusting. Why you ask was I only able to bring up some of my information? Because he was overkill, too nice! One of my friends told me that he told her he took multiple psychology courses before he finally passed. I brought up an issue, but he claimed that was the same student we were discussing, it wasn't. I was talking about 3 different people. Know your facts, before you hold a meeting with a student and quit taking the professors side. It doesn't allow the students to have a voice, if you care less what they have to say. Everyone takes everyone else side, they don't want a bad label on the program. He even had the nerve to claim that anything I shared through an email, was anyone's gain. It was my medical information!! Even showed it to me. Really?! Who the hell do you think you are!
Long story short, one student was allowed through the program, even after running out of time during an exam. I saw it. I have it recorded, too. THE RECORDING--just click to hear  She even curses on the tape. The next day, the professor came to class and took her anger out on everyone. It was pathetic and unprofessional. I heard the student was allowed a second chance to take the test, all I know is that she was back in class allowed to move on through to the next stage so were others and many others weren't given this chance.  This was an email to another student from the professor. It just wasn't fair.
As you all know, I have skin issues. I have seborrheic dermatitis. I mentioned my issue through an email, the same week, but was told that I needed to get a form, which stated that I had a disability. What a load of crap! The office at the school claimed that my doctor didn't fax my physical weeks later. Never got a phone call. They told me that I needed to call them to get the ball rolling. A phone call weeks ago would have been nice. I spoke to the disability office over an over. I now have referral to a neurologist for my stress issues, through my dermatologist. I'm a college student, so when I have time, I will look into this issue.
During the nursing exams, multiple people pass out different tests. She claimed that her test were all the same, but yet I see her fighting to be the one to pass her test to my row and I've even had students tell me they have changed seats because they didn't want her to give her test. I know for a fact that some tests were harder than others. I'm talking 3rd grader tests vs college level! I've had more college level tests and had an easier one the day, she didn't manage to get to my row. I'm not stupid. I've even watched who she handed her tests to and witnessed those people staying last. Other students noticed some test were easier, also.

I have decided to change my major because of all of this drama. If I would have know that I was one class away from my AA degree, I never would have got into this program. Lesson learned. My new major will be Computer Science. I will be blogging about my new journey, soon. I don't want to work for anyone of this nature and this is why I fee great about my decision.
What I learned by ATTEMPTING the nursing program…
1.       I had to share everything about my personal past life to the board, just to get in this program and I was still accepted. I still have that letter, which I’m proud of. My first semester was a struggle because I had to prove myself worthy. I learned that nothing is set in stone and I’m going to always go for what is mine.
2.       I’m 33 years old and I’ still have a few more years to spare, so this was just a small obstacle.
3.       Any program that allows a professor to substitute and tell the class to shut up over and over isn't for me, anyways. I’m not a child! You get the same respect you give.
4.       My family time will always be more important.
5.       I don’t have to go through life wondering, what if?
6.       I get to lose this extra nursing weight I gained and buy a new outfit, afterwards.
7.       I realized that I can pass a normal class, but I can exceed by using Cornell notes.
8.       I found out that I don’t like hard work and a desk job is right up my alley, I’m no one’s slave.
9.       People will lie and say they are struggling, when they aren't. Be for yourself. Your success is up to you.
10.   If you’re more nervous, than excited about anything, it gets harder to motivate yourself because you will lose faith in yourself. The fear will swallow you alive! I’m now excited about my new dream career!!
11.   I’m stronger than I believed I was, but I do have flaws.
12.   I fulfilled my dream of working in a hospital and that was enough for me. I can run for days, but being on my feet for 12 hours in pain is very distracting.
13.   I would recommend this program to my worst enemy.
14.   I can help people in need, whether I’m a nurse or not.
15.   If I can look in the mirror and still see myself, that’s what really matters.
16.   I've always loved math and I still love math. A Computer Science major at another college is my next goal. It feels good to have an attainable long term goal.
17.   My new semester starts in January! I found out that I’m going to graduate with an AA degree, after taking just one course!
I may edit or add to this. ;)

Nursing Student Journey: Round 2

My journey first began with a virgin mind and blind eyes. I was accepted into the program and I ended up having to withdraw because I received a "D" on my first nursing test. In order for me to be allowed to continue again, I had to take a mandatory TABE test and get a 12th grade reading level score, plus an SLS1501 College Study Skills course. I completed everything and now I'm on round two. Not to mention, paying financial aid back because I missed the first deadline for my refund, so I took a (W)--withdraw. I've been given hell about: a misdemeanor (it was cleared by the board), no income/single mother (FASFA--counselors constantly questioning), etc. I don't know why they don't make SLS1501 College Study Skills mandatory for all college students, especially nursing students. It's been difficult, but I believe that this study course has helped me understand how to be more prepared for nursing. Pharmacology is like another language, even if you read the book. A surgery tech told me that categorizing everything helped her. Dosage calculations is a little tough. Just get a tutor immediately for everything! Many people have told me that there is no way to learn everything.  My study course seems to be based that way. We learned: if you understand the SQ3R method, you're only picking out main ideas and bold/italic/boxed info type of concepts, also Cornell notes would be just making your own questions from this stuff and your notes. I even remember reading an article similar to this standpoint. This is the article. During my study course, my professor posted a video by this guy that seemed to be really intelligent. I followed this video to YouTube. I found out that this guy was a doctor and owned an entire site where he tutored and posted hundreds of videos for nursing students for a fee.  I just bought an account through his site called account, which will help me as I get further into the program. It comes with a tutor and hundreds of nursing, ob, pharmacology, peds, etc. videos. I also found this site has audio of the fundamentals nursing textbook, I'm going to keep blogging about my new nursing experience. I believe I start on the around 8/25/2014. I was told that it isn't recommend to take summer courses, of course after the fact, is when I find this out. The courses are fast paced and condensed, during summer.
Just look at how excited I was!
Update: My puppy Coco, soon didn't recognize me, a few weeks later. Ha ha ha! I lived in the nursing lab. No matter what, my studying and reading had a huge separation, which caused me a ton of anxiety. None my preparation was up to par because I didn't understand the tools needed for nursing school. I just left the counselors office for the third time this month. I keep getting the impression that they don't want me to receive financial aid. The counselor told me to put like $8,000 for my annual income. I don't even get that much!! Why the hell would I lie and jeopardize myself. I won't! My appointments always seem like a setup to get me alone, but my boyfriend is always with me. I have nothing to hide. I have no income, I'm not married,  and I have a child through another relationship. Today they told me that the Pell grant now has a cut off date of like 6 years or something. Every time I turn around I have something new to check on my college site, accept, flagged, or missing information that is needed at the last minute or I won't get my FASFA aid. Really?! So, I finally believe I have no fees, no flags, etc. Although, I was told to keep checking to make sure nothing changes from now, until the the 25th. I was told that I could register. Although, I was told nursing that the Dean was the only one who could do it, being that I withdrew. My grades finally went in and I passed the course with an A. My professor sent the study course grade to him for me. After 48 hours of waiting, I'm going to contact the college, nursing center, and the Dean. I have to make sure all my bases are covered, until the last minute. This just blows my mind that this is all so complicated. Maybe even a video. The journey begins! I will keep you posted on my journey!! :) In the end, I hope I can help someone understand this difficult process.

Seborrheic Dermatitis: SKIN FROM HELL!!!

I longed for the day that I could be normal! My day may finally be on its way. I have had an issue with my skin, since I was 13. At least, that's when I noticed my skin was dryer than usual. I remember thinking that people with my skin tone have uneven skin moisture, maybe. Not the case with me.
So, here's how it started. Dry and flaky around my eyebrows and an extremely dry scalp. No it wasn't dandruff! That's what most people thought, including my hair stylist. As I got older, my scalp needed to be washed sometimes 3 times a week or more, just to give it relief from being flaky and dry. My skin cleared up a little and my scalp did, too, depending on the weather. If I relaxed my hair, it would cause my scalp to dry out again, so eventually I went natural.
Here's the hell part! Just recently over the past few years I had a flare up. I call it this because my skin has it good days and it has its bad days. For months my scalp got really dry and irritated and my skin started to get itchy and red on my forehead, under my eyes, on my cheeks, and around my ears. Eventually, where my skin was itchy, it got raw, red, and patchy. I felt like a shedding lizard! Talk about painful and unattractive! I started to hate water on my skin because it would burn and just dry out my skin even more. So, I would only have these flare ups when I would get nervous or upset. I felt like my body was on the attack! I found WEN for my hair. It's a leave-in conditioner. I sometimes would put a little it on my face, too. This stuff saved me for a few months. I still use it. I can't even where makeup or lotion.
It was so hard for me to be in college with this issue because every time I had a test it would show throughout my skin. Very difficult to hide. It made me feel so insecure. I made it, though. At some point, in the middle of all that, my doctor prescribed me some medicine for my face and scalp. This helped me, for a while. I used it when I didn't want to have a flare up. It wasn't a cure for all and that's what I've always wanted. Or, at least, a non-flare up for a longer period, other than a week or two.
So, my dreams came true few days ago! I finally made an appointment to see a dermatologist! I hope that something new will be done, that won't affect my organs. Some of those meds can be too strong for your organs to handle. You need a prescription to see a dermatologist, my prescription stated that I may have Seborrheic dermatitis.

hCG 1234 Recipe: Baked Stuffed Tomatoes

Baked Stuffed Tomatoes

100 grams ground beef
2 medium sized tomatoes
1 serving of Melba toast crumbs
1 tablespoon finely minced onion
1 clove garlic crushed and minced
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
Cayenne pepper to taste
Salt and pepper to taste

Hollow out the tomatoes, sprinkle with salt and turn upside down to drain
for 10 minutes. Brown ground beef in a small frying pan; add onion, garlic
and spices. Pack ground beef mixture into tomatoes, add small amount of
water to bottom of dish, top with Melba toast crumbs and salt, and bake in
350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
Makes 1 serving (1 protein, 1 vegetable, 1 Melba toast)

hCG 1234 Recipe: Garlic Chicken

Garlic Chicken
100g chicken: 400g chicken - 4 servings
diced onion
3-5 cloves garlic - unpeeled & left whole
juice of half lemon
black pepper to taste
1/4 t chili powder
black pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Heat non-stick saucepan over MED.
  3. Add the onion. Stir constantly until tender. 5-10 mins.
  4. Transfer onions to glass baking dish.
  5. Place chicken atop onions.
  6. Place garlic around and on the chicken. (I used minced garlic)
  7. Squeeze on lemon juice & sprinkle with pepper.
  8. Cover tightly either with lid or aluminum foil.
  9. Cook for 30-45 mins or until chicken is no longer pink.

Note: You don't have to eat the onions as your veggie (it's primarily for flavor). Just eat the chicken and add veggie of your choice. (After I fried onion and chicken, I tossed 2 cups of broccoli and 1 tomato in skillet, after tossing veggies around a little, I then added a dash of water to make light sauce to sauté the veggies in. Then, I placed it all on top of the lemon and garlic.)

I lost 3 pounds the next day!!! Trust me. Order these drops!! I did. hCG 1234 really works. :)

hCG 1234

IT WORKS! I have chosen to use hCG 1234.This is my second time around using this product. I'm a bit of a snacker and I'm definitely stubborn when it comes to food. If you are interested in
a product that gives great results
then this is the product!!!!!
It can be purchased from this website: or through the ads I've posted for you.
I am doing the 500 calorie diet because I like to see fast results. If you stroll down on my blog, you can see that I'm tried HCG different ways, so I definitely am a credible source for advice. I've tried the shots, other brand names of drops, and even the pill through a nutritionist (stroll down for posted brochure and diet). They all work in different ways. With pills I lost less, slower. I believe that they are a weaker strength. The diet works, though. Shots, give immediate scary fast results, but difficult to get from a doctor. Drops, similar to the shots results, show not much variation. I do a walk around the lake (-120 calories), or eat an apple for a fruit, just to make sure that I keep losing weight. Want to see your calories for the day? I keep track of my meals and my calories on
I tend to do my diet similar to the way the nutritionist stated. I find the hCG1234 drops to be extremely similar to the nutritionist diet, with better results! It even has some added bonuses. Like for example, just the other day I made this amazing dressing that I concocted on my own, using hCG 1234 ingredients. (Most of these ingredients my nutritionist stated for me not to use in his diet.) I used mustard and Worchester sauce, to be exact, with hCG1234 and I still lost weight the next day! So, the mixed dressing ingredients consisted of mustard (no sugar), Worchester sauce, apple cider vinegar, Mrs. Dash, salt, and pepper. It was phenomenal! After that, I was sold!
I have decided that after my diet, I just might stick to eating their healthy meals. I need lots of motivation, though. Maybe, a pic of my before and after would work. What a great idea it would be, if I could blog all of their recipes, that I've personally prepared!  Soon to come, no more! Click hCG recipes tab on the right to see the meals from the hCG 1234 website. I've just started, so give me time, they'll be lots more. :)

Anything from my past doesn't make me who I am today and I've been through many things in my life. I consider my past , including people that I knew, exactly that, my past! I am a new person today, meaning that, I am improved. What others talk about today shouldn't phase me, if it involves my past. The only thing that should matter, is that I feel better about the changes I've made and those things should be the only things that stand out to me. They say that when you're doing wrong, the only memories you have are the good ones and that's what keeps you coming back for more insanity. I guess that's why now that I'm doing great, the bad memories hurt my feelings. I refuse to be hurt! I'm going to use this pain as motivation. I will succeed and that's what bothers my enemies because it makes them feel good to remember all the bad things about me. That's the only thing they have to make them feel good about themselves.Whoever I choose to let into my life, will be nothing but positive, because I've seen evil inside and out and I definetely know the difference. The long road that I've traveled wasn't fabulous, but today I know this, it has made me mature, plus wise. This wisdom allows me to make better choices in my life and I have. I don't regret any of my life, it made me who the strong person I am today. Everything happens in life for a reason, they say. I'm proud to know that today, I'm cautious and concious about everything going in my life. That's a beautiful thing, that I'll never take for granted, ever again. I am ready for anything that the lord hands me and always have been, he's taken me far. I'm ready to see what he has in store for me next! I'm sure the hell in my life is far behind me, on lock, where it should be, which is my choice.  For this reason, my new beginning started a few years ago, but my brand new beginning that is based on concentrating on family, education, vitality, happiness, self-awareness, begins today. :)

I watched the election and I wrote a paper for my class. It went so well, that I decided to add it to my blog.

2012 Election

There were many speakers supporting Mitt Romney. He is an American businessman and politician. During the election, he accepted the nominee for the Republican Party for President of the United States in the 2012 election. Many of the well-known supporters included, but not limited to, Nicki Haley, Ann Romney, Chris Christie, Condelezza Rice, Paul Ryan, Clint Eastwood, and Mitt Romney.

The speeches were extremely motivating and ended similarly with god bless America. Nicki Haley spoke about her family’s business and mentioned that the president can’t tell her that her parents didn’t build their own business. She also said that the president will do everything he can to stand in the way of people owning businesses. She voiced how Mitt Romney took a failing Olympics and made it prideful. She expressed that Ann Romney, his wife, was a silver bullet, had strength and grace, and is an inspiration to her family and other women. She expressed that we deserve better. Nicki Haley lastly declared that we need to protect retirement and strengthen the military, not destabilize it. We also, need to fight for American companies, not against them.

Ann Romney asked everyone in the beginning of her speech to pray that during hurricane Isaac all remained safe from destruction. She began by declaring that her speech was not about politics or party, but from heart, our hearts. Her speech was about love. It was about the love for her husband, children, parents paying mortgage, single dads and their children, children longing to be like other children, working mothers, and couples that can’t afford to have children. She mentioned that women hold this country together and that they are the best, the hope of America. She said that women aren’t dumb enough to accept that there aren’t better answers. She expressed that tabloids say that they have a storybook marriage. She stated that their days consisted of five boys screaming all day, multiple sclerosis, breast cancer, etc. Ann Romney declared that they had a real marriage. She believes that Mitt Romney will move heaven and earth for America because he wasn’t handed success, he built it. I admired when she said that her husband doesn’t like to talk about others he has helped, he sees it as a privilege, not a political talking point. Her last statements included, give and it shall be given unto you, dreams fulfilled help others launch new dreams. She added that this man will not fail because he never failed her, he will not let us down. She said that he will lift up America and our future; we can trust Mitt will take us to a better place, give America that chance.

Chris Christie stated that he was proud of his state, party, and country. He spoke about his mother being the stronghold of the family. She taught him the lesson in life that there would be times in life when he would have to choose between being loved or respected. On this election night he chose to be respected. He articulated that history showed that we always stand when it counts. He said today’s government ideas have failed America, we believe in being truthful and all the math doesn’t add up. He spoke on the focus that we need to cut federal spending and reduce the size of the government. He declared that our senior citizens and teachers were being treated unjustly. He said that America needs to send real leaders into the white house. He revealed that leadership is missing today and that real leaders don’t follow polls, real leaders change polls. He brought up that we have never been victims of destiny, but that we are the masters of our own. He believed that our generation should read about a strong economic growth. Chris Christie ended with we all must share in the sacrifice and truth will bare when we finally answer the call, Mitt Romney, for American greatness.

Condoleezza Rice stated that people of conscience and faith have shown the soul of this country and that we feel like we are carrying the burden. She mentioned that we cannot be reluctant to lead and that we cannot lead from behind. She cited that peace comes from strength. She pointed out that her mom was a teacher.  She respects the profession and we need great teachers, not poor ones and not mediocre ones.  She stated that we have to have high standards for our kids, because self-esteem comes from achievement, not from tax standards and false praise. Sadly, she declared, we are abandoning free and fair trade and it will come back to haunt us, we shouldn’t let energy and dependence slip through our hands. She revealed that greatness is built on mobilizing human potential and ambition, plus people come to America because people from all over the world believe in the American dream. She added that Americans have been successful too because Americans have known that one's status of birth is not a permanent condition. Americans have believed that you might not be able to control your circumstances but you can control your response to your circumstances. She ended lastly by saying, this is an election of consequence and the freest and most compassionate country on the face of the earth will continue to be the most powerful and a beacon for prosperity and liberty across the world.

Paul Ryan accepted his nomination for vice president. He stated that the nation needed a turnaround. He spoke on how the president is just throwing away money with all his attack ads and that he is pretty experience at that. He revealed that Obama came to office during an economic crisis, we voted, people loved the sound of it. Obama promised recovery to many towns, many are unemployed. Nearly 1 in 6 Americans are in poverty. Half of the educated people today can’t find any work. Why will the next four years be any different from the last four years? Half of the American continent could stretch a long line of people unemployed in America. The greatest threat to Medicare is Obama care and America is going to stop it. He said that our nation needs this debate, we want this debate, and we will win this debate. He stated that many are grasping on a moment that’s already passed, like a ship trying to sail on yesterday’s wind. Obama needs to stop spending money he doesn’t have, 16 trillion in debt and the president is still doing nothing and when the obvious is pointed out to him, we are attacked. I admired when he spoke about his mother starting a small business. He stated that his mom started a small business, and he’s seen what it takes. His mother was 50 when my Dad died.  She got on a bus every weekday for years, and rode 40 miles each morning to Madison. She earned a new degree and learned new skills to start her small business.  It wasn't just a new livelihood.  It was a new life.  And it transformed his Mom from a widow in grief to a small businesswoman whose happiness wasn't just in the past. Her work gave her hope.  It made their family proud. And to this day, his Mom is his role model. He ended with a pledge that they will not duck the tough issues, they will lead. They will not spend the next four years blaming others, they will take responsibility. They will not try to replace our founding principles; they will reapply our founding principles.

Clint Eastwood was endearing, amusing, and an unexpected guest. He said funny words like, “hot dogging it” and he had the audience finish and he started a known quote from one of his movies “Go ahead, make my day.” He mentioned the last election that it was very Hollywood by having a fog machine and lights, Oprah and everyone was crying, including him. He said that he hasn’t cried that hard since, he heard that there were 23 million people unemployed in this country. It is a national disgrace. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the invisible Obama skit. He asked Obama a few questions and the times when he mentioned issues that weren’t to be mentioned, Clint Eastwood would say, “No I’m not going to do that to myself” and no, “I not going to tell Mr. Romney to do that to himself.”

Last, but not least, Mitt Romney came out and on the way to the podium he shook everyone’s hands. One man tried to take a picture and security stood in front of him, I laughed. Romney stated that he will create 12 million new jobs by expanding domestic energy production, improving education and training, forging new trade agreements with other countries, balancing the budget, and helping businesses grow. “What America needs is jobs,” Romney stated. “Lots of jobs.” Romney said he will not increase taxes on the middle class. The United States will be independent from energy suppliers outside of North America by 2020, Romney said. Romney said he would “preserve a military that is so strong, no nation would ever dare to test it.” “Under my administration, our friends will see more loyalty, and Mr. Putin will see a little less flexibility and more backbone,” Romney said. Romney said he would be a defender of small businesses, which he described as “America’s engine of job growth.” Taxes on businesses would be cut, not increased, under a Romney administration, he said. He would also abolish President Barack Obama’s health care law in order to “rein in the skyrocketing cost of healthcare.” Romney made a blunt appeal to this critical demographic by noting that women held significant positions during his term as Massachusetts governor. He listed several of the women, including former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who addressed the Republican National Convention, and he also mentioned that his mother, Lenore Romney, had once run for the U.S. Senate. Romney stressed that his business background at Bain Capital, a private equity firm he helped start in 1984, makes him better qualified than Obama to turn around a struggling American economy. Among the successful companies Bain helped start, Romney said, are Staples, The Sports Authority, and Steel Dynamics, a steel mill in Indiana. Romney tied his Mormon faith to the American experience. His family originated community and kinship with “remarkably vibrant and diverse congregations” that prayed together and were quick to help each other out. He said that growing up Mormon in Michigan may have appeared out of place, but his friends cared more about the sports teams they followed, than what church he and his household went to.
